Traveling with infant in air

As a young mom, I know how it is to feel and get information on every single thing possible. My little baby was 6 weeks old when I first took her to travel with us from Jaipur to Bangalore in flight. I was hell nervous, curious about how it will go. I tried to gather as much information as I could from doctors, from fellow experienced mom's, from flight attendants to I guess every other article on internet. Then it clicked me, that none of them helped with complete knowledge, everyone missed something or the other, so here I am writing all information I gathered before I traveled with my baby girl. Things to carry: # pacifier https://amzn.to/2K3sE4a (if your baby is less than 6 months) https://amzn.to/34dszCf (if your baby is older than 6 months) # cotton balls # if you pump and give bottle to baby then pump before you board or feed before boarding. Carry your sterlised kit. The Pump i used was very economical, luvlap breast pump manual.. (https://amzn.to/3grdrGa) As I didnt use it much, only used in travelling so didnt want to spend too much. This was a decent priced. So try to travel in morning, so that your baby is comfortable, as most of the babies tend to be cranky in evening, try not to take longer flights with your baby and take non stop flight, so that pressure of landing and take off is not a long double process for them. Try to manage baby's schedule from 2-3 days before as per your flight timings. One great tip which helped me was to get their malish done and then swaddle them well and take them, which helps them sleep better. For clothing, I prefer a cotton romper with hoodie, they stay covered well in that. My all time favorite is from mothercare.. (https://amzn.to/3gu5Gix) These are super soft and comfortable. For diaper bag essential: These days backpack style bags are very easily available, they are super spacious and very comfortable to carry on back with the baby. (https://amzn.to/3lYvxAf) THe ones available with superbottoms (https://amzn.to/2K8h7Ak) is also very good Cloth Diapers of course. Wet bag to put soiled diapers Emergency medicine kit 2 pairs of dress 1 dry sheet/diaper changing mat 1 wipes 2-3 burp cloth 1 cover sheet/blanket 1 cap if required Socks and mittens Pacifier Cotton 1 cover for yourself while feeding I carried lots of food with me, as a nursing mom, you like to eat a lot and homemade.theplas, apple, dry fruits, gond Ka ladoo and small bottle of water, coz I didn't want to carry extra weight, water was easy to get on airport and plane. Also in a small bottle I carried coconut water along with a bottle of buttermilk. It's easy to fly with infants, as they sleep most of the time and you also get to rest. Try asking for better legroom seat or front seat. I was told some airlines also provide bassinet, so you can ask for that while check in. We didn't get front seat, so the girl at check in gave us seat which was empty, so it was easier for us to have an empty side on side, specially during feeding sessions. Also, you can carry your stroller till boarding gate, so don't get that checked in coz after security, there is sometime to wait till you are on plane. With an infant ticket, you need to pay approx 1250 extra in domestic flight coz those are taxes, you are allowed a 7 kg bag and a stroller in that, no seat is given. You also need to carry their Id card. I already got adhar, passport made, so didn't face any problem. One can carry birth certificate too. I guess I covered everything, just enjoy your baby's first flight with you, ask for as much as help you want from airport staff/ airlines staff. Everyone is very cooperative.
